London, June 26, 2019.- Yesterday the Argentine Embassy was the site of the concert "Fuentes", by the Argentinean guitarist Alejandro Starosielski. This concert was the closing of his first European tour that took him to several European countries including Sweden, Germany and France.
Alejandro Starosielski released "Fuentes" (2019), an album of his compositions, an instrumental work consisting of original works for 7-string guitar, in Argentine folklore. In the work of the Argentine composer there is a rereading of the folkloric that invites us to think about a theme: it goes back to abbreviate in the tradition and the impulse from there forward, looking for new ways.
The works are the result of almost a decade of exploration and are strongly signed by the different influences that accompany him in his training and in his experience as a film composer, where the stories focus on the central axis of his music. The distinction between cultured music and popular music becomes irrelevant, languages appear intertwined to give rise to a music that escapes gender classifications.
The room was filled with more than 50 attendees, including the local artistic community, the Argentine community and the general public. The repertoire also included performances by the authors of both Latin American and world-class guitar and some traditional folklorists such as Gingham, Ralph Towner and Atahualpa Yupanqui.
