PRESS RELEASE - 4th NOVEMBER 2017

Argentina introduces a long-term "Railway Infrastructure Plan" to key investors

London, 4th December 2017.
Breakfast at the Argentine Residence

As a part of an international Roadshow including presentations in the United Kingdom and France, the president of Trenes Argentinos Guillermo Fiad and Ambassador Carlos Sersale di Cerisano hosted a breakfast meeting early this morning, where the “2016-2030 Railway Infrastructure Plan” was introduced to investors, banks, infrastructure suppliers and related services.

One of the highlights of Mr Fiad's agenda in the United Kingdom was meeting with Sir Terry Morgan, Chair of Crossrail, and touring the company's works in London.

Representing the Argentine Ministry of Transport, Mr Fiad also held one-on-one meetings with 15 companies. Investors and suppliers were updated on the work done since 2015 when Argentina developed and launched a new infrastructure plan, which includes the railway system, airports, roads and energy sector.

Given the ambitious plan to transform these areas, which will help reconnect the country and reduce transaction costs, Mr Fiad expressed Argentina's need to attract private capital investments. On that matter, the president of Trenes Argentinos delved into the tools provided by the PPP Act passed by Parliament in 2016, which offers a stable frame of rules for investors to take a part on the challenges to develop a 21st century transport network.
