PRESS RELEASE - 2nd FEBRUARY 2018
Marianela Núñez has been Argentina's artistic ambassador to the world for 20 years
Ballerina Marianela Núñez celebrated 20 years with the Royal Ballet as Giselle at the Royal Opera House
London, 2nd February 2018
Marianela Núñez has been a global ambassador of Argentina at the Royal Ballet — school, stage and heart of world ballet — for the past 20 years. Her artistry, talent and dedication paved the way for her to become Principal of the Royal Ballet in 2002. Prior to this, she entered the Royal Ballet School and joined the company. Earlier on, she honed her abilities at the Teatro Colón from the age of 14 and began touring. And right before all of this, she was a 3 year old girl who dreamed of dancing.
Now, whenever she visits Argentina, she is involved in workshops in San Martín, the neighbourhood where it all started. When artists cross borders, they become universal. This celebration, the multiple international awards along her career and these words are a way of paying tribute to a great artistic ambassador and to all her teachers. Thank you Marianela. Happy 20th anniversary!
